about

The conflict between heart and mind is a construct. We all know that it's the things inside your head that dictate how one expresses their feelings. It is only after the heat of a burning heart that one is left cold and empty, or so we think.

I had met Allie Frost some years ago, when she was singing for a doom metal band called Eternal Embrace.

Recently I had been asked to do some work on her project Frost Of Doom and I thought there was something she could add to this spacey slow jam, we just didn't know what.

I showed up to her place one afternoon and just started scribbling words on a piece of paper.
Once her parts were figured out and laid down, the rest of this piece started to take shape.

It needed more. So naturally I went to New York.
There I asked my friend and cohort in a Yes tribute band called Total Mass Retain, Mark Anthony Gonzalez, to play some guitar and Carolyn had just bought an oboe in a second hand shop.

I can't remember the last time someone did an oboe solo on an electronic/rock/slow jam/psychedelic piece.

I hope you enjoy this enigmatic bit of noise art.
